War hammer. Blunt weapon fixed on a short wooden shaft, used by warriors on horseback, spreaded particularly in central and eastern Europe. It was in use up to the end of the XVIth century, with models shaped following the local tastes. The head, made in cast metal, has on one side a plain hammer head, balanced on the other side by an arched spike, is mounted on a hardwood-made handle with a shaped grip and a pommel to which is fixed a metal ring.
