The "Brown Bess" flintlock musket constituted the backbone of the weaponry of the Britannic army starting from the second half of the XVIIIth century and in particular during the Napoleonic wars. The "New Land Pattern" model here shown was developed in 1797, simply cutting off the brass forniments to make its manufacturing easier.
